Edit an upcoming charge or payment

For a recurring or scheduled contract, these screens adjust what happens next without touching the rest of the schedule: change the next charge (its amount and due date), or change when the next payment is taken.

Where to find it

On a contract, select Edit next charge on the statement, or Schedule payment in the arrears section.

What you see

  • The account and contract headers, and the current next charge amount or next payment date.

What you can do

ControlWhat it does
Next charge amount / due dateChange the amount and date of the next upcoming charge. Rules: Move the next charge.
Next payment dateChange when the next payment is collected. Rules: Reschedule the next payment.
SaveApplies the change and returns to the contract. Rules: Move the next charge, Reschedule the next payment.
CancelReturns to the contract without changing anything.

Things to note

  • These are only offered for recurring or scheduled contracts.
  • Schedule payment only appears while the contract is in arrears and no collection is already in progress.
  • Editing requires the relevant contract permission.
  • Moving the next charge date moves every later charge with it; the screen says so before you save.
  • The new date must be at least a few minutes in the future, and an imminent date asks for confirmation before it is applied.
  • Only the next item is affected — later charges and payments follow the existing schedule. To reshape the whole schedule, use Edit a contract.
