PayPal Commerce

PayPal Commerce

PayPal Commerce Platform is PayPal's payment solution for platforms and
marketplaces, and is the product PayPal is migrating merchants onto from its
older Business, Business Pro, and PayFlow products. It lets a merchant accept
PayPal, Venmo, Pay Later, and card payments through a single checkout, and is one
of the most widely recognised payment brands worldwide. Shuttle connects to
PayPal Commerce over OAuth, so merchants can authorise the connection by logging
in to PayPal without handling API credentials directly.

Payment methods

Through our PayPal Commerce integration, merchants can accept:

  • PayPal: the PayPal wallet button at checkout.
  • Venmo: offered to eligible US customers alongside the PayPal button (can be
    turned off per gateway).
  • Pay Later: PayPal's buy-now-pay-later option, shown to eligible customers
(can be turned off per gateway).
  • Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club.

Card acceptance and the level of visibility you have over how a customer paid
depend on which product you connect. Connecting PayPal Commerce Platform makes
the PayPal button available, with Venmo, Pay Later, and cards displayed alongside
it depending on your region and settings — but the payment is reported simply as
"Paid with PayPal". Connecting Advanced Card Payments adds a native card
capture flow with more visibility over how the customer paid, and may carry
different processing fees. See Connecting PayPal Commerce
for details.
