Welcome to Shuttle for Platforms
Shuttle is the payment layer between software and payment processors: one integration reaches more than 40 processors, for every merchant on your platform. These guides are for platforms adding payments for their merchants, whether that platform is a SaaS product or an AI agent that takes payments by phone or chat. If you are a merchant taking payments for your own business, see Shuttle for Merchants.
Two ways to add payments
Section titled “Two ways to add payments”- Embed Shuttle in your product. You create each merchant’s account, and Shuttle sits inside your product under your brand: onboarding, checkout and a console for merchant staff, as components you embed. This is Embedded Payments for Platforms, Shuttle’s main product.
- Connect to your merchants’ Payment Links accounts. Your merchants have their own Shuttle Payment Links account, and your platform connects to it to create payment links and take payments, with code or with no code at all.
Choosing an approach compares the two.
Where to start
Section titled “Where to start”- What Shuttle can do: every capability on one page, whichever approach you take.
- Core concepts: the five objects that carry almost everything. Once they make sense, the rest of the guides read the same way.
- Authentication for platforms: your API key, and how to call the API for each merchant.
- Sandbox accounts: build and test with no money moving.
- Business rules: what Shuttle will actually do with each request, the same for the screens and the API.
- Account sharing: let another platform work with your merchants’ accounts, with each merchant’s permission.
