# Instances

Within the merchant instance context, you can check the payment capabilities of the current instance.

## Capabilities

The capabilities endpoint returns what payment methods, currencies, and features are available on this instance. Use it to:

* Check if onboarding is complete before showing payment options
* Filter available currencies and payment methods in your UI
* Validate configuration before attempting a payment
