## Saving a card fails with "Customer Information Manager is not enabled" (E00044)

If you see `createCustomerProfileRequest failed (Customer Information Manager is
not enabled. (code: E00044))` when saving a card, Customer Information Manager
(CIM) is not enabled for your Authorize.Net account.

To fix this:

1. Log in to the Authorize.Net Merchant Interface (sandbox or production, as
   appropriate).
2. Go to **Account → Customer Information Manager**.
3. Select **Sign Up** or **Enable** if it isn't already enabled.

Once CIM is enabled, the error should stop.

## Some ACH transactions are recorded as successful but did not go through

Authorize.Net does not reflect ACH declines, which must be managed off-system. See
the
[Authorize.Net ACH declines article](https://support.authorize.net/knowledgebase/Knowledgearticle/?code=KA-04424)
for details.
