# Use a separate record for each customer

> Why a shared customer record in QuickBooks risks charging the wrong customer.

The Shuttle app links invoices and payments to the customer's record in QuickBooks. If you use one general record for everyone, for example a single "CUSTOMER" instead of Client A, Client B and Client C, there's a risk of charging the wrong customer.

If you have a general customer record, do **not** turn on saving cards.
