# Payment links FAQ

> Answers to common questions about Payment Links, including surcharges and PayPal with Braintree.

## Can I add a surcharge or card fee?

No. Shuttle doesn't add surcharges or card fees to payments. Card surcharges aren't allowed in some places, and not every payment provider supports them, so surcharging can't work as a standard feature.

## Can my customers pay with PayPal if I use Braintree?

Yes. Connect [PayPal Commerce](/payment-providers/paypal-commerce/) as well as [Braintree](/payment-providers/braintree/), and your customers can pay with their PayPal account as well as by card. If you don't use Braintree, connect PayPal on its own. See [Getting started](/merchants/payment-links/getting-started/#2-connect-your-payment-provider).

## Can a customer pay part of an invoice?

Yes, if the link lets them enter the amount. With the QuickBooks app, see [Partial payments](/merchants/quickbooks/partial-payments/).

## Can I take a payment while my customer is on the phone?

Yes. Use [Staff Payment](/merchants/payment-links/staff-payment/), not the payment link.
